My first foray into photography began when I was 10 years old. From time to time, I'd pick up the family film camera, take pictures of my family and tinker with settings, not thinking anything more of it than just a fun activity.
In 2010. I purchased my first professional-grade DSLR camera for the purpose of filmmaking, namely YouTube content. I shifted to photography relatively soon after, having found more of a footing in photo composition and editing.
I spent the next 10 years within the Kamloops area, shooting in a myriad of different settings, including some commercial and music video film shoots. I established YKA Media (YKA being the airport code for Kamloops) as a brand that was easily recognized for quality and consistency.
In 2021, I relocated to Victoria, and in 2025, once again relocated back to mainland BC in Vancouver. In the last few years, I have found myself dialing in further on my passion for motorsports, traveling and shooting freelance for events such as F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, WEC, IMSA, and more.
I look forward to furthering my career in a field that is naturally always changing and advancing, and providing more quality content along the way.
When I'm not behind the camera or on a plane heading to a big race event, you can find me sim-racing online, petting one of my three cats, drinking copious amounts of caffeine, or at a local track/car meet, so don't forget to say hi and feel free to chat!
